Lemtrans, the largest private railway operator in Ukraine, has added 110 new gondola cars manufactured in Ukraine to its fleet.

The company told the CFTS portal that the gondola cars were being purchased under a five-year financial lease agreement with Privatbank. The total value of the agreement is more than UAH 130 million.

In total, according to Lemtrans, the company has increased its fleet of rolling stock by 327 pieces this year.

"We are pleased to conclude an agreement with Privatbank. This project will help the company to improve the efficiency of its rolling stock and meet the needs of the customers with whom we have concluded SLA contracts. We are always considering options for purchase of railcars based exclusively on analysis of the current market situations," Lemtrans CEO Volodymyr Mezentsev said.

Eduard Mizin, the director of Privatbank’s eastern regional department, said that the contract with the financial institution was concluded in November.

As reported earlier, Lemtrans acquired 172 new Ukrainian-made gondola cars from the OTP Leasing limited liability company under a financial leasing agreement in the fall of 2017. The deal was worth more than UAH 150 million.

Lemtrans, a limited liability company, organizes transportation of goods with its own rolling stock, provides freight-forwarding services, provides informational support for freight transportation, and repairs rolling stock. The SCM Group owns 100% of the shares in Lemtrans.
