The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) has announced that security measures have been stepped up at Kyiv's Central Railway Station, the CFTS portal reports.

"A comprehensive inspection system has been installed at the station to improve passenger safety. It includes two stationary metal detectors ("frame"), four X-ray television introscopes, hand-held metal detectors, and a portable X-ray television installation," the statement said.

Since baggage inspections at the train station are now similar to baggage inspections at airports, this can lead to queues. Therefore, it is important for passengers to arrive very early.
