An armed group has assumed control of rail transport and other assets of the Donetsk Railway state enterprise in the zone of the government’s “anti-terrorist operation” (ATO) against separatists, the press service of State Railway Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia) reports.
Ukrzaliznytsia has already reported this to the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine.
The press service also said that a number of criminal acts were committed in relation to Donetsk Railway’s properties, including deliberate destruction, damage, or embezzlement of state property.
In particular, according to the press service, 164 freight cars on the books of rail transport companies controlled by Ukrzaliznytsia have been stolen or destroyed.
Separatists illegally cut 63 freight cars at the Kondrashevskaya-Novaya station (Lugansk region), eight at the Nikitovka station (Donetsk region), 14 at the Rutchenkovo station (Donetsk region), four at the Larino station (Donetsk region), and 30 at the Panteleymonovka station (Donetsk region).
In addition, 37 universal platforms and eight gondola cars were stolen at the Donetsk-2 station, which is located in the ATO zone.
The press service of Ukrzaliznytsia also reported other criminal acts by separatists - destruction of railway tracks, structures, and communication or signaling means, as well as arbitrariness and robbery.
