The first international flight is scheduled to depart from Mykolaiv airport on December 26. It is expected to be a charter flight to the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
The Mykolaiv airport’s acting Director Fedir Barna confirmed this to the NikVesti publication, the CFTS portal reports.
“Yes, I officially confirm it. Tour operators have already begun selling it. Yes, it is true. We are ready to launch the first flight even today. We are fully ready, but the first flight will take place on December 26,” said Barna.
A Mykolaiv-based travel agency wrote on Facebook, "Flights from Mykolaiv to Sharm el-Sheikh will depart on Wednesdays from December 26, 2018, and they will be performed until the end of May 2019."
As the CFTS portal reported, the first flight to be performed from the Mykolaiv airport after a long break took off took on November 19, when an AeroJet Airlines aircraft flew from the Mykolaiv airport to the Kyiv (Zhulyany) airport.
The Mykolaiv airport was expected to resume operation in March 2018, but resumption of operation was later postponed.
An apron was repaired at the airport in the spring.
