A section of the M15/E87 Odessa-Reni highway was closed to vehicular traffic until 1 June 2017 on December 15. The closure is due to the beginning of major repair work on a bridge near the village of Palanka.
Now, the southwestern part of the Odesa region can be reached by traveling through the local road P-70 (Odesa – Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi – Monashi) and exiting to the M15 highway. It passes through the resort towns of Zatoka and Karolino-Buhaz.
The repair work was launched specifically at this time of the year to avoid inconveniences during the summer holiday period, the Ukravtodor road agency said.
The total cost of the bridge repair is UAH 76.2 million.
