The operational dredging of the waters of the Yuzhny port has been completed. As a result, the seaport’s internal channel, the navigable waters of its berths Nos. 16 and 17, and the waters of its berths Nos. 7, 8, 9, and 39 have reached their rated depths. In total, 461,100 cubic meters of soil was removed from the bottom of the waters.
The completion of the dredging operation has greatly improved navigation conditions, which in turn has improved the conditions for safe navigation and maneuvering for laden ships in the Yuzhny port’s internal channel and berths.
According to the Yuzhny port authority, operational dredging of the port’s waters was last performed in the period of 2008-2009.
The contract for the dredging operation was concluded with the LIGOS UA limited liability company on 5 November 2015.
