Petro Andriuschenko, an adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, has published photographs showing the current state of the railway station in Mariupol in the Telegram application.
"A year ago, all journeys started from the Mariupol railway station. The Azov branded train to Kyiv and further around the world... Now, you can go nowhere from here [except] on a draisine or on foot on railway sleepers because Russia came and liberated Mariupol from life," Andriuschenko wrote, commenting on the photographs.
According to him, the Russian occupiers plan to expand the railway station’s area. However, since the launch of long-distance trains is not planned, he believes that the actual goal of this plan is to create a "port-railway-highway" military logistics hub.
As reported earlier, the Russians have begun dismantling the tram tracks in the temporarily occupied Mariupol.
