An explosion set off by unidentified people damaged a bridge leading from the city of Orekhov (Zaporozhe region) to the village of Novodanilovka on Tuesday night. The public relations division of the Zaporozhe Regional Police Department announced this in a statement, the Interfax Ukraine news agency reports.
The police received information about the explosion at 02:20.
A Berdyansk-Dnepropetrovsk passenger train was stopped on the approach to the site of the incident.
According to media reports, there were no casualties, but the movement of trains on the route was stopped.
The non-electrified railway line that passes through Orekhov links Zaporozhe with Berdyansk, Mariupol, and Donetsk. The city is on River Konka, over which the bridge was built. Orekhov is located 63 kilometers east of Zaporozhe.
