Repair work on the runway at the Cherkasy airport began on August 6, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Cherkasy regional administration. The contractor for the repair work, LLC Rostdorstroy, “underwent the necessary tender procedures” in July. Fifty people will work on the facility per day.
"The airport is a complex structure with a comfortable terminal, signal lights, and many other things. Therefore, there is still a lot of work ahead and the repair of the runway is just the beginning. Thanks to funding from the State Fund for Regional Development and the regional budget, we have more than UAH 124 million for this," the regional administration’s deputy head Serhii Ovcharenko said.
As reported earlier, the Khmelnytskyi airport has signed a contract for reception of light aircraft and begun preparation to launch operations after a long break.
