Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) has prohibited Russian airline companies from flying on transit through Ukrainian airspace.

"Russian airline companies are ceasing the use of Ukrainian airspace to perform transit flights," Rosaviatsiya said.

Flights must be routed to bypass Ukraine through Russia to the airspaces of other neighboring countries that can ensure the safety of flights through their territories.

The ban is indefinite, until the safety of flights over the Donbas area can be guaranteed again.

Earlier, the Ukrainian authorities banned civilian aircraft from flying over the Donetsk, Lugansk, and part of the Kharkov regions.
