Russia is threatening to "reassess cooperation" with United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres if he sends experts to Ukraine to investigate the use of Iranian kamikaze drones to kill civilians in violation of a United Nations resolution.
Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Serhii Kyslytsia, stated this on Twitter, describing it as "a truly moronic logic," the CFTS portal reports.
According to him, Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitri Polyansky said that Moscow could "reassess cooperation" with the United Nations, including extension of the agreement on export of grain from Ukrainian seaports, in response to a potential UN investigation into Russia's use of Iranian drones.
This statement was made after a closed session of the United Nations Security Council, during which accusations that Iran was supplying drones to Russia were made. Polyansky said that Russia was still "not convinced" of the need to extend the "grain agreement."
