The TAS Group has become a partner of the Voestalpine international steel company (headquartered in Austria) and the freight division of Austrian Federal Railways (OBB Rail Сargo Group) by acquiring shares in TransAnt GmbH (Austria), which is a developer of innovative new-generation freight cars.

Information about the TAS Group's acquisition of over 40% of the shares in TransAnt GmbH was entered into the Austrian Business Register on 15 February 2023.

TAS announced this in a press release, the CFTS portal reports.

According to the press release, the group is entering international markets by modernizing its own production, expanding the geography of its partnerships, and updating its operating formats.

"The TAS Group sees strengthening the economic potential of its enterprises in Ukraine as a priority. In this context, the implementation of the Ukrainian-Austrian project is an important factor that will enable domestic manufacturers to develop a powerful synergy for further development and improvement of production efficiency," TAS shareholder Serhii Tihipko said.

According to the press release, by localizing production at the Dniprovahonmash railcar manufacturing plant in Ukraine, TAS is creating a job program and launching the production of modern models of freight cars.

"There are enough requests for new types of freight cars in the product order portfolio, and the production of the key components for modular cars began at the Dniprovahonmash plant in Kamianske in February," Dniprovahonmash’s Director Andrii Sanin said.

According to the press release, the combination of Dniprovahonmash’s almost 100 years of operational experience with TransAnt GmbH’s developments and technologies, the quality of Voestalpine’s high-strength steel, and the Austrian Federal Railways’ logistics capabilities will be a powerful impetus for increasing competition on the market, further developing the domestic mechanical engineering industry, and strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
