The Baykar Makina company (Turkey) will donate the Bayraktar drone for which Poles raised PLN 22.5 million to Ukraine.

This was announced by Polish journalist Slawomir Sierakowski, the initiator of the crowdfunding campaign to buy the drone, the CFTS portal reports.

Sierakowski said that he received from the company's management an official letter stating, "In light of your campaign, Baykar Makina will donate a Bayraktar TB2 to the people of Ukraine so that they can better protect their homeland."

Sierakowski launched the "Buy a Bayraktar for Ukraine" crowdfunding campaign on 28 June with the goal of raising PLN 22.5 million (EUR 4.5 million) for purchasing a drone. The amount raised was more than the amount needed for the purchase of the drone. The money will be transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

As reported earlier, the Ukrainian army uses Bayraktar attack drones quite effectively to attack Russian armored vehicles. The drones are also used for artillery spotting.
