Turkish Airlines has operated its first scheduled flight from Istanbul to the Kosice Airport (Slovakia), which is located 90 kilometers from the border with Ukraine, the press service of the airport announced.
The airline’s aircraft took off from Istanbul at 08:10 and landed in Kosice at 09:10. The duration of the flight was two hours. The return flight departed at 10:05, local time.
Istanbul-Kosice-Istanbul flights will be operated twice a week - on Thursdays and Fridays. The cost of a one-way ticket starts from EUR 53. An Airbus A320 aircraft is operated on the route.
As reported, the Kosice airport is the second largest airport in Slovakia. The airport handled 0.4 million passengers last year. In addition to Turkish Airlines, Czech Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Wizz Air, and LOT operate regular flights from the airport. The airport is convenient for residents of Ukraine’s Zakarpattia region.
