Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) is preparing to resume long-haul flights in the summer of 2022.

The airline announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Interfax Ukraine news agency.

In particular, UIA will resume regular flights to Toronto on 1 June 2022 and to New York on 2 June 2022.

It plans to operate flights from Kyiv to Toronto on Wednesdays and Saturdays and flights in the opposite direction on Thursdays and Sundays.

Flights from Kyiv to New York will be operated on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays and flights in the opposite direction on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Flights on these routes will be operated on Boeing 777-200ER long-haul aircraft with business, premium economy, and economy classes.

In addition, UIA reiterated its readiness to resume flights to other destinations, depending on positive epidemiological indicators and subject to obtaining permits to operate flights.

UIA recently announced that it expected its passenger transport volume to increase by 34% to 4.3 million in 2022, compared with 2021.
