Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) will begin operating regular flights from Kyiv to Chernivtsi on 1 July, the UIA’s President Yurii Miroshnikov announced this in an interview with the CFTS portal.
Kyiv-Chernivtsi flights will be operated daily. Flights will depart from Kyiv at 20:00 and from Chernivtsi at 07:00. The flight duration will be one hour.
Ticket prices have not yet been announced. An Embraer 145 aircraft leased from the Dniproavia airline will be used on the route.
"We are also launching flights to Chernivtsi. We can only fly there on Embraer 145 airplanes taken on wet lease from the Dniproavia airline. Our Boeing 737 and Embraer 190 cannot fly to the Chernivtsi airport due to the state of the runway and taxiways. Firstly, an Embraer 145 is lighter and, secondly, its engines are located on top, near the fin," Miroshnikov said.
Turkish Airlines recently announced plans to fly to the Chernivtsi airport.
