The State Road Safety Inspectorate (Ukrtransinspektsia) has decided to suspend the operations of all the offices that issue international transport permits in the Crimea from March 31. This was reported by the Delo publication, which cited Ukrtransinspektsia’s head Valerii Chernenko.
"Gunmen have seized all the offices that issue international transport permits in the Crimea (Yevpatoriya, Sevastopol, and Kerch), separatists have placed their leadership in in these offices, and, accordingly, the offices have ceased to implement the orders of Ukrtransinspektsia,” Chernenko said.
According to him, an order was issued to block all the international transport permits that were issued in the Crimea and stop issuing new permits in the region after the seizure of the Ukrtransinspektsia offices.
"Ukrtransinspektsia has sent the numbers of all the international transport permits that were issued in the Crimea to its foreign partners and asked them to invalidate the permits and instead issue new permits to carriers from Ukraine,” said Chernenko.
Meanwhile, according to the head of Ukrtransinspektsia, buses continue to transport passengers to the Crimea normally.
