Granaries with a combined simultaneous storage capacity of 9.4 million tons have been damaged or destroyed because of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. 

The KSE Institute, an analytical center at the Kyiv School of Economics, stated this in its latest report on the Ukrainian agriculture industry’s losses because of the war, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Elevatorist publication.

This figure does not include the businesses that remain inaccessible in the occupied territories.

"The estimated cost of repairing the damaged and replacing destroyed granaries is approaching USD 1.1 billion," the document states.

In addition, according to the report, 2.8 million tons of grain and 1.2 million tons of oil crops have been destroyed or stolen as a result of the full-scale invasion.

The total value of these agricultural products is estimated at USD 1.87 billion.
