Railway workers opened the up track on the Kamysh-Zarya - Rozovka railway stretch in the Zaporozhe region to traffic at about 08:50 on January 28, following completion of repairs. Thus, full restoration of the railway line after the sabotage that took place on January 20 took eight days, the press service of the Pridneprovskaya railway announced in a statement.

According to the statement, maintenance crews worked around the clock. They performed repair work on the down track, which was opened to traffic on 23 January, within a short time. Over the next few days, the destroyed section of the up track was replaced almost completely and the damaged bridge’s structures were restored.

As reported, terrorists staged a diversion on this railway stretch on 20 January, as a result of which an explosion damaged a 500-meter dual-track section with a length of about was damaged in the Zaporozhe region and a 15-meter dual-track bridge. A 55-railcar train carrying ore was travelling on the railway stretch at the time of the incident, and only 25 of the train’s railcars escaped without damage. These 25 railcars were sent to the Kamysh-Zarya train station. The railcars belong to Ukrzaliznytsia.

Mariupol was deprived of a rail link with the rest of Ukraine for a few days as a result of this sabotage.
