The Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company intends to send a group of its employees to the European Union to study the operations of major passenger train stations, Ukrzaliznytsia’s acting Board Chairman Oleksandr Zavhorodnyi announced on his Facebook page.

"We are sending a train with workers from the passenger department to major European train stations in mid-March. Upon their return, an extended meeting will be held with the involvement of the public, experts, and journalists, the outcome of which will be approval of a strategy for development of passenger traffic in Ukraine," Zavhorodnyi wrote.

An announcement of the upcoming event will be posted on the website of Ukrzaliznytsia.

According to Zavhorodnyi, a group of experts has already visited "the leading countries of Europe" to familiarize themselves with the operations of passenger trains over a period of two months in the new year, and "the first photo reports, interesting innovations" will be published this week.
