Flights to the Zaporozhe airport have been banned until Thursday, December 25, the Interfax Ukraine news agency reports, citing the State Aviation Service’s head Denys Antoniuk.
According to him, the extension of the ban is still due to security issues.
As reported, the State Aviation Service banned flights to airports in Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, and Zaporozhe at 00:00 on December 13. The acting spokesman for the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Vladyslav Selezniov, said that the Security Service of Ukraine was implementing "anti-terror measures" at these airports.
Airports in Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk resumed full operation on December 16. The Zaporozhe airport was expected to reopen on Saturday, 20 December, but the ban was extended until 23 December.
