The Boryspil international airport handled 57.3% of the total air passenger traffic in Ukraine in the first quarter of 2014, the press service of the airport announced in a statement.

According to the statement, the 1.457 million passengers that passed through the airport in the first quarter of 2014 were 17% more than the number that passed through it in the first quarter of last year.

"In terms of the number of passengers handled in the first three months of this year, the airport established a significant gap between itself and the Kiev (Zhuliany) airport in second, accounting for 78.5%," the statement said.

In general, the volume of passenger traffic through all the key airports in Ukraine totaled 2.523 million in January-March. In terms of passenger traffic, Boryspil is followed by the Kiev (Zhuliany) airport with 12.3%, the Donetsk airport with 9.2%, the Odessa airport with 7.8%, the Kharkov airport with 5%, the Lvov airport with 4.4%, and the Dnepropetrovsk airport with 4%.
