The Ministry of Infrastructure may announce the list of finalists in the competition for the post of general director of the State Railway Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia) and the posts of heads of the Boryspil airport and the Lvov airport before the end of the week.

"We have had an unexpected delay with the Cabinet of Ministers. Almost everything is OK. I hope that we will be able to do it this week," Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian told the Centre for Transport Strategies.

Earlier, he had promised to announce the list of finalists by 15 February.

As reported earlier, a group of experts including representatives from Deloitte Ukraine, Talent Advisors, and EBS completed consultations with the Ministry of Infrastructure on selection and assessment of candidates for the post of general director of Ukrzaliznytsia on 13 February.

Based on the results of the project, a short list of candidates recommended for consideration for these positions was sent to the Minister of Infrastructure.

The expert group directly selected resumes from all interested candidates after the ministry publicly invited applications for the open positions. In total, 233 resumes were submitted.

After a review, a longlist of 11 candidates to head Ukrzaliznytsia was compiled and recommended for interviews. The candidates that made the longlist were later interviewed by representatives of the expert group and the deputy minister of infrastructure. As a result, a shortlist of three candidates recommended to the minister of infrastructure for submission to the nomination committee was compiled.
