A few days ago, Ukrzaliznytsia’s Board Chairman Volodymyr Zhmak recently said that the government had for the first time allocated about UAH 4 billion in the state budget for development of railway infrastructure and passenger transportation. "We hope that these funds will be provided to Ukrzaliznytsia promptly so that we can purchase 85 new passenger cars and repair and electrify about 200 kilometers of tracks...," he said.

It was previously expected that Ukrzaliznytsia would be able to purchase 100 new passenger cars with state budget funds in 2021.
