The Kyivpastrans municipal transport enterprise intends to purchase seven low-floor trams with lengths of more than 30 meters at the expected cost of UAH 301 million by December 29. According to an announcement on the ProZorrro public procurement portal, tenders were invited on May 5, tender proposals will be accepted until June 6, and bidding is scheduled for July 12, the Interfax Ukraine news agency reports.

According to the technical terms of the tender, the trams should be manufactured no earlier than 2017, have three to five sections, and be capable of accommodating at least 60 sitting passengers.

The warranty period of operation of the trams should two years from the date of commencement of operation.

As reported, Kyiv invited tenders for supply of 40 low-floor trams with a length of at least 26 meters at the expected cost of UAH 1.946 billion (including VAT) in late April.

Kyivpastrans concluded an agreement with the Elektrontrans company (Lviv) for purchase of seven 30-meter, low-floor trams for UAH 183.75 million in October 2015, following a tender. Earlier, Kyiv bought trams for its high-speed line from the Tatra Yug company.
